Probably he should attempt to screen such concern from his deliberative radar entirely. In this sense, it is accurate to describe him as lacking any moral duty of care to third parties. Yet it seems perverse to infer from this observation that, if the therapist carelessly induces in his patient false memories of severe abuse at her parent’s hands, her parent ought to be precluded from recovery, as a matter of moral principle.
